چکیده

ABSTRACT We study molecular emission in a massive condensation at the border of H ii region RCW 120, paying particular attention to Core 1 and 2 objects, most fragments found previously by ALMA. The Embedded Massive Star Forming Region RCW 38

RCW 38 is a uniquely young (<1 Myr), embedded (AV ∼ 10) stellar cluster surrounding a pair of early O stars (∼O5.5) and is one of the few regions within 2 kpc other than Orion to contain over 1000 members. X-ray and deep near-infrared observations reveal a dense cluster with over 200 X-ray sources and 400 infrared sources embedded in a diffuse hot plasma within a 1 pc diameter. The central O st...

Infall, outflow, and turbulence in massive star-forming cores in the G333 giant molecular cloud

We present molecular line imaging observations of three massive molecular outflow sources, G333.6–0.2, G333.1–0.4, and G332.8–0.5, all of which also show evidence for infall, within the G333 giant molecular cloud (GMC). All three are within a beam size (36 arcsec) of IRAS sources, 1.2-mm dust clumps, various masing species, and radio continuum-detected H II regions and hence are associated with...

The molecular environment of massive star forming cores associated with Class II methanol maser emission

Methanol maser emission has proven to be an excellent signpost of regions undergoing massive star formation (MSF). To investigate their role as an evolutionary tracer, we have recently completed a large observing program with the ATCA to derive the dynamical and physical properties of molecular/ionised gas towards a sample of MSF regions traced by 6.7GHz methanol maser emission. We find that th...

The massive star-forming region G323.7420.26

We report near-infrared molecular hydrogen and Brackettg observations towards the massive star formation site G323.7420.26. The region contains an H II region, ,30 arcsec across, and two Class II methanol maser sites, which are separate from the H II region. We show that the spectral type of the star powering the H II region is B0. We also show that at least one of the maser sites is powered by...

Magnetic Fields in Massive Star Forming Regions

We present the largest sample of high-mass star-forming regions observed using submillimetre imaging polarimetry. The data were taken using SCUBA in conjunction with the polarimeter on the JCMT in Hawaii. In total, 16 star forming regions were observed, although some of these contain multiple cores. The polarimetry implies a variety of magnetic field morphologies, with some very ordered fields....
